Why do the Course?

With the current government emphasis on the role of community based mental health care, the Certificate in Community Mental Health Care is more valuable than ever. This course encourages the sharing of best practice, supporting service user involvement while promoting a holistic understanding of mental health and mental wellbeing. The course focuses strongly on the need to support people with mental health issues achieve their potential to get the most out of life and help them on the road to recovery.

Anyone who has a caring role in the community who is  keen to learn and willing to question the validity & effectiveness of their current practice. Anyone who hopes to work in community based mental health services.

£997 – payable in two installments (September 2012 and January 2013) No concessions.

Richard Wakerell has delivered a range of Mental Health Training workshops and courses for many years to all levels of staff and volunteers who provide mental health service support in Plymouth.

Richard is Cert Ed Qualified and is a former Director of Plymouth Mind. He has a wealth of experience in supporting people from all walks of life, helping them to face up to and overcome major problems. You will benefit from this vast experience that adds so much more to enrich your learning experience at Plymouth Mind.

We will be starting this nationally accredited course again at the end of September 2012.
